Elder Low's report:
This week I’ve been studying a lot in first Nephi, and felt particularly re-inspired by Nephi’s affirmation in 1 Nephi 3:7 stating that as we strive to keep the commandments of God, He will open a way that will make that commandment, not necessarily easy, but indeed possible.
Last night was super bowl Sunday, and we really did not want to knock doors. Having cleaned up after the baptism and gone to a recent converts house, it was just about 6 and we knew that every person and their dog, as they watched the biggest game of the year, was going to be annoyed by two guys knocking on their door and asking to pray with them. We discussed what we should do, and realized that it was a commandment from God to harvest for an hour, and that though it would be difficult, somehow God would soften the hearts of the people. We got to the place we felt we should go, prayed, took a deep breath, and started harvesting. About an hour in we knocked a door, and a woman opened the door. We said we had come to say a prayer. She stated she had company over and had to refuse. Before she could finish commenting we saw who her company was. It was a man we had met twice before. We talked, and he stated that he believed that it was the intervention of God that had brought us together and accepted the prayer. He did not initially accept baptism, but was quite interested.
I know that God blesses us as we strive to keep his commandments, and that we will see miracles as we demonstrate our desire to obey.
