Elder Low's report:
This week I read a lot in 1 Nephi. Particularly
chapter 8 caught my attention this week which talks about Lehi's vision of the
tree of life. I love this chapter as it explains very clearly the Lord's goals
for us in this life, points out key this that can cause us to lose sight of
these goals, and the things that with help us overcome them.

But, to be short in writing, behold, he saw other multitudes pressing forward;
and they came and caught hold of the end of the rod of iron; and they did press
their way forward, continually holding fast to the rod of iron, until they came
forth and fell down and partook of the fruit of the tree.
I
think we often ourselves feel as if we are in a dark and dreary waste, but as
demonstrated by the simple symbols of Lehi’s dream, as we cleave unto the word
of God (the iron rod), relying upon his grace, and give no heed to anything but
which we know is what we desire, his love and joy (the tree of life), we will
obtain it.
This week was full of miracles. It started
out bad though. We couldn't get in contact with any of our investigators, and
we were trying super hard to get them to church so they could feel the spirit. With
one particular investigator this was a huge focus and problem. She worked on Sundays,
and she did not feel like she had the ability to give up the job that was
keeping her from coming to church. The week prior we told her to pray that the
Lord would help her get to church, but until Thursday we couldn't contact her. We
went over that Thursday and she wasn't home but her son was. We thought this
was going to be bad news... and it sort of was. He told us she wasn't there
because she was at a funeral. We asked whose and he said it was the funeral of
the person she took care of on Sunday....
I
know as we follow the Lord he will bless those who will follow him. He will
show his hand and power to those who trust and pray unto him, and will open the
doors for those who search.
